Game Of Thrones Season 7 Online: The journey of HBO’s popular TV Series Game of Thrones can be best experienced by watching it on your own. But let us try to look back at some iconic milestones from the point of view of some of the series leading characters alive. Yeah, SPOILERS ALERT!!!
Game Of Thrones: A Journey So Far!!
Arya Stark: Honourable Ned Stark’s younger daughter has seen a lot of her family members killed in her presence. The story started with her as a zealous young rebel who wasn’t interested in any “girly” stuff like her sister. Even the first ever time we saw her, she was teasing her brother Bran with her Archery skills. As the story proceeded we saw Ned Stark becoming hand to his friend and the then King Robert Baratheon’s Hand and taking Arya and her sister with him. There Arya trained for using swords. As the events turned to get ugly, Ned Stark was captured and Arya’s sword teacher was murdered in front of her. The King was dead and JoffreyBaratheon was the new king whose first order was to publically behead his father. Thus, started Arya’s famous hit list. Since then Arya started her journey alone.
She met different people and learned new skills. It was her journey that led her to JaqenH’ghar, the faceless assassin who saved her from being caught by TywinLannister. She parted her ways temporarily from Jaqen and went to her mother’s home Riverrun where her mother Catelyn and her brother Robb were preparing to avenge his father’s death. But before she could meet them she witnessed the horrifying scene of Robb’s dire wolf being killed and got the news that her family has been brutally murdered. Being picked by SandorClegane, ‘The Hound’ from there, she learned more about fighting and using Needle, the sword his half-brother Jon gave her. As the events turned, she parted from The Hound as well and finally met back JaqenH’ghar to be trained into being a faceless assassin herself. After her brutal training in season 6 we finally saw her making Walder Frey, the guy who conspired her family’s murder, eat his own children and then being killed by her.
Sansa Stark: Arya’s elder sister, the damsel in distress is the least we can say about her. Throughout the storyline, Sansa has managed to be at wrong places with wrong people. She started off as a lovely young girl always dreaming about her charming Prince Joffrey who she was promised to. When her father became king’s hand, she went with him along with her sister to spend more time with Joffrey. Only then she discovered the true devil that Joffrey was. As the king died, and Joffrey being the new king accused Ned Stark of treason, Sansa not only saw her father being beheaded but was also made to stare at his father’s decapitated head hanging in front of her. When later in the story Margery Tyrell was promised to Joffrey leaving Sansa alone, she and we both thought it was the end of her hardships, only to be proved wrong. Sansa then was promised to Queen Reagent’s younger dwarf brother TyrionLannister but managed to escape King’s Landing before Joffrey was murdered and Tyrion was accused of it. Little finger Lord PetyrBaelish took her with him to her aunt’s home in Vale where he killed her aunt to save her and then took her to her own home in the north, Winterfell.
As Sansa’s brother and mother were murdered by Walder Frey with the assistance of Roose Bolton, Roose was appointed as the new Warden of the North.Peter left Sansa with the Bolton’s to be married to Roose’s bastard Ramsay and promised to return once he succeeds in his purposes. Ramsay was a savage, to say the least. Sansa’s discovered that her cousin TheonGreyjoy who was accused of killing her younger brothers Bran and Rickon was also there as Ramsay’s tortured slave and she was about to be another. Season 6 began with her and Theon escaping from Winterfell and being rescued by Brienne of Tarth who vowed to Sansa’s mother to protect Sansa and Arya. From there she reunited with her half-brother Jon Snow, the former Lord Commander of the Night’s Watch. The season ended with an epic battle between Jon and Ramsay’s army where was saw Sansa witnessing Ramsay being devoured by his pet hounds.
CersieLannister: We saw her conspiring the king’s murder we saw her crying with her boy Joffrey dying in her arms and we always saw her leaving no stones unturned to save her children from being harmed and still failing in her attempts. The first shock she gave us when we discovered her incest relationship with her twin brother Jaimie for discovering which, Jamie threw young Bran Stark from a tower. We then witnessed how she succeeded in making her and Jaimie’s son Joffery as the new king. For the devil he was, Cersie lost total control of him especially when young Margery Tyrell came between the two. When Joffery was killed, Cersie was all outraged to have her younger brother, Tyrion, killed for his murder.
Eventually, Tyrion fled and she began to worry about her younger son Tommen who was the new king. Her daughter Myrcella was already sent to Dorne by Tyrion when he was the hand of the king. She planned to take control by hiring the Sparrows to her aid. But her plan backfired brutally leading her to her infamous naked walk of shame. In season 6 we saw her almost losing control over everything before she went all mad and killed everyone with Wildfire including Margery Tyrell and the High Sparrow. But eventually, her actions led Tommen to suicide and her being the Mad Queen.
TyrionLannister: The Imp, The Dwarf and what not. TyrionLannister is the guy who took all the insult and still owned everyone he met. Right from the beginning, we saw him talking sense to everyone without fear. He was truly the most effective hand of the king we ever saw in the series. But fate had something else for him. He was accused of killing his nephew Joffrey and her sister’s attempts to have him punished to death were almost successful when finally his elder brother Jaimei helped him flee. He killed his father Tywin before leaving the King’s landing only to be assisted by Varys, the master of whisperers to find DanaerysTargaryan who was the most deserving ruler for the Iron Throne.Tyrion assisted Danaerys as a chief advisor and the season 6 ended with him being appointed as her hand.
DanaerysTargarayan: She started off as an innocent young girl who was practically sold to a Dothraki warlord KhalDrogo in the name of marriage by her elder brother Viserys so that in return KhalDrogo assist him in getting back their ancestral Iron Throne which was taken by Robert Baratheon. But as the story unfolded we saw her growing stronger with her three dragons, wise counsellors and most importantly heart of a true queen.
She fought against slavery and rested at Mereen to rule from there. But as the fate had it, she met TyrionLannister and Varys and finally by the end of season 6 we saw her sailing with her own army of Unsullied and Three Dragons along with the army of the Greyjoys led by Theon and YaraGreyjoy who wanted to avenge their father’s murder, Tyrells led by Ollena Tyrell to avenge her son and grandchildren’s murder and Myrtells led by Ellaria Sand who were to avenge her husband’s murder and of course, Tyrion and Varys
Jon Snow: The Stark Bastard. We saw Jon Snow being insulted and rejected for being a bastard. He joined the Brotherhood of Night’s Watch like his uncle Benjen. The night’s watch was there to protect the North from the invasion of “free-folks” north of the 800-ft ice wall and also to fight the Walking Dead, the White Walkers. Snow started off as a steward to the former Lord Commander to the Night’s Watch, Lord Mormont. Obeying his orders he eventually ended up in the camp of the wildlings led by ManceRayder. The Wildlings consisted of all sorts of human-like creatures including giants. Jon fell in love with a wildling girl Ygritte breaking his oath of he took while joining the night’s watch.
But later he again went back to the Night’s Watch to tell them of Mance’s plans and preparing them for the attack. The attack was neutralized and wildings were with Ygritte being killed. Jon’s soft side for Wildlings made him infamous among his own Night’s Watch brothers. The hatred grew, even more, when the then Lord Commander Jon Snow had his first encounter with the White Walker army where he lost many of the Night’s Watch brothers saving the wildlings. Following a conspiracy, Jon was killed but brought back by a priestess only to leave the night’s watch to help her half-sister Sansa to get back her home from Ramsay Bolton. Season 6 ended up with him being declared the King in the North
Bran Stark: The significance of Bran’s character in the series was revealed very slowly throughout the story line. It was only in season 6 that we realized the worth of his powers. Being thrown by Jamie in the very first episode, Bran lost his ability to walk. Since then he was assisted by many including Jojen Reed who told his he was a Warg (someone who could let his consciousness in other creatures) only to finally be trained by the Three-Eyed Raven to move without walking by the powers of his mind. It was Bran who in the end of season 3 revealed that Jon wasn’t actually Ned Stark’s Bastard but the son of Ned’s sister Lyanna and RhaegarTargaryan.
The series has the Starks, the Lannisters and the Targaryen all heading for the Iron throne. The next season would be really interesting and exciting, to say the least.
